NEW HAVEN ENGLISH DROP CLOCK
Here is
an Out standing New Haven Drop Clock made for the English market. As you
can see, the wood inlay around the clock is in excellent condition with no
issues. This has a large New Haven 8 day time and strike movement, which
strikes in a bell. It is an out standing example of this type of clock
with the craven wings. The base wood is a light grained walnut. This is a
good size clock at 27 ½ inches long
This is a working clock that is ready for you home with a note of two areas. The dial is new but it does go well with this clock. The other issue is this is a noisy chimer. That is when it calls the hour it has more noise than some. This happens because the train is driven from pinions and this tends to be one of the side effects. Not good or bad, it is simply part of the mechanical design. as I was taking pictures of this clock I wonder how much it would cost today to have this detail inlay in a clock. The inlay is really something to see.
