Ansonia “The Roune" Crystal RegulatorThe starting bid for this very beautiful Clock is just 135 dollars. This is, I believe, one of the more attractive of the Ansonia Crystal Regulators. While it does not have the fretwork of some the Regulators it has a good size and is more majestic than most. A little of the France influence with the curved top helps lift the ‘Roune’ out of the ordinal. This was recently polished, cleaned and it is room ready. This particular clock dates from the 1902 to 1918 and is an excellent example of this American clock style. Please note that this is a rack and snail movement, which was reserved for Ansonia higher price offerings. Some other areas for you attention are that the springs for the movements are incased in a separate barrels. Also, note the bun feet and the beveled glass that was used. Adding to this is the very nice high quality blue steel coil that was used for the Gong. All of this adds to a high-end clock that looks and acts the part. For example the sound is a rich deep sound and it is a slow study count rather that a fast one typical in most clocks. As is true today it was true 100 years ago. Quality is in the details, which result in the total beauty. Maker: Ansonia Dimensions: 11 high 6 ¾ wide
