RARE WEIGHT DRIVEN DAVIES LEVER 1846  CLOCK

This is a important horological clock that needs total restoration.  This Davies Lever movement was patented in 1847 and would have been used in a typical OG Housing.  This is the Davies Time and Strike movement which is complete and it does work.  The only negative is the second wheel after the escape wheel has two splits.  There are straight breaks that would be an easy fix which would take less than half hour.

If you are new to this type or have never seen a Davies Movement this is worth your studying.  If you will note at the center arbor, where the time hands are, you will see a cam, this cam was used to define the hour for the strike side of the clock.  There are very few of these movements around and all you need is a common OG Case and you will have a fantastic clock.  If you do not have an OG Case they are cheap and easy to obtain.

You can have the only Davies Patent Clock on your street and probably the only for in your circle of clock people.  And yes this movement is marked and it is a Davies movement.
