TIFFANY & Co 18 SIZE EARLY POCKET WATCH

Did you ever want a Tiffany Watch? This may be you opportunity to fulfill that dream. This early Tiffany watch has been recased, probably made by the Vacheron Constantin for Tiffany in the 1860-70. This is a very high grade watch which is an authentic Tiffany, with a serial number of 96,177. The history of Tiffany watches is not easy to follow since a number of firms made watches for them and the serial numbers are not in numerical order.

This is an excellent time piece with a original dial in mint condition. The movement is clean and working. As I stated this is a recase, which means it is not the original housing, which is quite common. Many of the 18 K Gold watch were melted down for the gold value a few years back. I would guess the original hosing fell to that fate. Still it is a great fit and it you are not told you would not know it was a recase. The glass is very nice thick with a bevel edge. It adds to the attractiveness of this offering.

This is an extra fine watch and is in fact marked EXTRA on the movement, the serial number, 96,177, and Tiffany & Co. and Swisse are on the movement. The serial number is on the movement twice.
