E. N. Welch Parisian ClockFor your consideration is this very hard to find Parisian made by Welch made between 1870 and 1885. There is often confusion with this model because a number of clock firms made a mode call “Parisian”. They all look similar but they are by no means the same. The Welch Parisian was the tallest of this type being over 24 ½ inches tall. This particular clock is offered as being all-original and a very nice parlor type clock. This is in walnut and it does appear all original but the top finial may be an old replacement. My judgment is it is original but I would entertain the possibility for it being only 100 years old. The walnut on this clock is outstanding and the radiances of the aged beauty is grand. At some point, I would believe the clock case has been cleaned but not refinished. By this, I mean than the original finish is still present and the 130 years of dirt has been taken away. The Glass is original and it splendid. Multicolor Glass like this is just not available any more. This is running and a good timekeeper. At some point, it would be befit with a good cleaning for best performance. The movement, dial, and case are all original to each other. The movement is marked Welch with a Pat. Date 1870. This is a very desirable clock and she shows well in a group or on her own. You will often see the Ansonia model, followed by the Gilberts and than the Kroeber Parisian but the Welch is not often offered for sale. Maker: E. N. Welch Type: Mechanical Time and Strike OVERALL LOOK: This is and excellent example of the American Clock from the 1870’s. It is working and ready for your home. I would put this in a spot when many will see it. THE STARTING BID FOR THE E.N.WELCH
'PARISIAN' IS $125.00. THE BID NUMBER IS ITEM 02.
